Note for Horsemen: Voting on Sunray Park Track Committee, Update on NMRC Meeting for Jockeys

Dear Horsemen:

The following are candidates for the Sunray Park Horsemen's Track Committee:
Owners:

Alfred Baca, Ronald Applegate, Mike Wolfred, Kathy Davis, Phyllis Castor, Jeri Wales, Jay Rader, Rita Cook, Jess Martindale and
Anthony Blea

Trainers:

Kenny Chadborn, Steven Stephens, Rey Marquez, Jackie Applegate, Clark Spencer, Sal Martinez, Ernie Williams and Joe Ray Chavez.

Voting will take place at the Horsemen's office at Sunrary Park from Saturday, May 1, 2010 until Sunday, May, 9, 2010 from 7:30 AM until 1:00 PM.  Voting will also take place in the Sunray Park grandstand and at the grandstand at each of the other racetracks in the state including the Downs at Albuquerque, Ruidoso Downs, ZIA Park and Sunland Park on Saturday May 1, Sunday May 2 and Saturday May 8 and Sunday May 9 beginning 30 minutes before post time of the 1st race at Sunray Park until the conclusion of the  running of the 5th race at Sunray Park.   Congratulations to all the candidates and best wishes.   You must vote in person and present your valid NM Owners  or Trainers license in order to vote. 

You may vote for up to four owners and four trainers.

NOTICE:  THE NEW MEXICO RACING COMMISSION WILL MEET ON MAY 19, 2010 at 10:30 AM TO DISCUSS THE JOCKS' REFUSAL TO RIDE THE Races on SATURDAY,  APRIL 24.  This is a change from the  May 4, 2010,  date that was set by the NMRC to consider the matter.

Please plan to attend this important meeting.  

Reminder:  On May 4, 2010 the Gaming Control Board will meet at 11:00 AM to consider progress of the temporary simulcast and gaming facility at Raton, NM.  The NMRC will consider the progress of Raton's efforts regarding the racing end of its project. This meeting will begin at 2:00 PM.   Both meetings will be held  at 4900 ALameda, NE, Suite A,  Albuquerque, NM    87113.  For more information call the NMRC at 505.222.0700.
