Upcoming Horsemen's Association State Board Meeting and Racing Commission Meetings
Dear Horsemen: Please take notice that the New Mexico Horsemen's Association Board of Directors monthly meeting will take place on March 17, 2010 at the Horsemen's main office at 217 Palomas, NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108 (505.266.7056) The meeting will start at 10:00 AM. All Horsemen are invited to attend this meeting. We will publish the NMHA meeting agenda by close of business, Monday, March 15, 2010 on this blog site.
The next scheduled meeting for the New Mexico Racing Commission will be on Thursday, March 18, 2010 commencing at 10:30 AM (public session) The meeting will be held at 4900 Alameda, NE, Albuquerque, NM 87113, Main Conference Room. The main number to the NMRC is 505.222.0700. The Racing Commission has announced that it will no longer publish tentative agendas and that a final agenda will be available to the public 24 hours in advance of its scheduled meeting. We will do our best to post the agenda once it becomes available on this website. You may secure a copy of the agenda for yourselves by e-mailing a request to Dinise.Rodriquez@state.nm.us. You can also reach Dinise at 505.222.0700.
News: Racing at Raton was recently given until May 1, 2010 to have an operational (services available to patrons) gaming and racing simulcast facility in place. The subject of live racing at Raton will be discussed at the upcoming NMRC meeting set for March 18, 2010. Other than the ongoing construction of the temporary simulcast/gaming facility there is little else to report at this time. It is obvious however that the race days which the NMRC granted for 2010 (63 days beginning on Memorial Day and continuing to Labor Day 2010) will not take place this year as scheduled. Hopefully the plans for racing at Raton in 2010 will become clearer after the NMRC meeting that is to take place next Thursday.
